BQA Certification
Required

Beef Processor
To Require BQA Certification

All Tyson Foods cattle suppliers, including sale barns will need to be BQA
or equivalent certified beginning January 1, 2019.
This is driven by retailer and end consumers including the fast food business
and grocery business and it has a trickle down effect.

As your livestock market we are already burdened by paperwork
and this will add to the list of items that we must keep on file.
However, if we don't have your certification on file Tyson Foods
cannot bid on your cattle at Manchester Livestock Auction
or for that matter at any other livestock auction.
Therefore we will need a BQA certificate from you.
Please Note:  Tyson primarily purchases beef cattle;
however if you have Holsteins or dairy cross cattle,
we would strongly recommend you become qualified
as we believe sooner or later this could be required by all cattle purchasers.

 HOW DO YOU BECOME CERTIFIED

Cattle producers can complete BQA training at no cost online
at BQA.org and that process takes about two hours

or at no cost to you

2 training classes will be held at Manchester Livestock Auction
(attendance at one not both)

Wednesday July 25th, 2018

or

Thursday July 26th, 2018

9:00 AM to approximately 11:00 AM

refreshments will be provided

registration starting @ 8:30 AM

BQA remains voluntary, however, without your certification,
you will limit who can bid on your cattle so the choice is yours.

As we have progressed through our 35 years here at MLA
this is just another of the items we've seen in the ever changing livestock environment.

As your partner in livestock marketing we look forward to serving your needs in the future.
