The Dairy Sale market is nearly non-existent
which is not surprising because there are more wanting
to get out of the Dairy business than are wanting in ....
whodathunk this ever would have happened .....
BUT IT DID

The first time in our 37 years there were no Dairy Cattle in today's auction!
This past Tuesday a gentleman who sold cattle here stopped to get his check,
While visiting the subject of Dairy Cattle came into the conversation.
My Dad was around Dairy Cattle all his life and would not believe
was has happened to the Dairy Cattle business out on the farm!
Everyone had to milk cows - - - - - right?  NOPE!!!
As my conversation progressed with the gentleman on Tuesday
he described things that have far reaching effects
that all directly affect businesses up and down main street & beyond:
manure spreader sales
tractor sales
skidloader sales
equipment repair
haying equipment
livestock handling equipment
hired farm labor
less need to "come to town" which limits other's income
and so many more things that are
impacted by the lack of Dairy Cattle
I wish I would have recorded the conversation
cuz there were so many more things
negatively affected by the loss of Dairy

Cyclical breeding has always made
the sheep & goat numbers smaller
this time of year and we expect
this trend will continue through February
as it has every year
